Grilled Salmon with Dill Sauce is a dish that transcends the boundaries of time and place. It's more than just a meal; it's a celebration of the profound connection between humanity and the sea, a testament to the art of catching and savoring the ocean's bounty.

Equipment

  • 1 small mixing bowl
  • 1 grill or grill grate

Ingredients

  • 4 6-8 oz fillets skin on
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 lemon sliced for serving
  • dash salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 sprigs Dill garnish

For the Dill Sauce

  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Dill fresh finley chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 clove Garlic minced
  • dash salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dill Sauce:
In a small bowl, combine the plain Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, fresh dill, fresh lemon juice, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well combined. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. Refrigerate the sauce while you grill the salmon.
  • Grill the Salmon:
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Oil the grill grates to prevent sticking. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil and minced garlic. Brush the mixture over both sides of the salmon fillets. Season the fillets generously with salt and black pepper.
  • Place the salmon fillets, skin-side down, on the preheated grill. Close the grill lid and cook for about 4-5 minutes.
  • Carefully flip the salmon fillets using a spatula and grill for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and is cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  • Transfer the grilled salmon fillets to a serving platter.
  • Drizzle the prepared dill sauce over the top of the grilled salmon fillets or serve it on the side.
  • Garnish the salmon with lemon slices and fresh dill sprigs, if desired.
  • Serve your Grilled Salmon with Dill Sauce immediately, alongside your favorite side dishes, such as steamed vegetables or a crisp salad.
  • Variations: You can also season the salmon with other herbs and spices like paprika, thyme, or cayenne pepper before grilling for different flavor profiles. Serve the grilled salmon with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice for an extra burst of citrus flavor.
