Ham Sliders
In the realm of finger foods and party platters, few items hold as much nostalgic charm and universal appeal as Ham Sliders. These delectable mini sandwiches, featuring layers of savory ham, gooey cheese, and soft, buttery rolls, have become a staple at gatherings, potlucks, and casual get-togethers across the globe. But what is the story behind these beloved bite-sized treats? Let's delve into the fascinating history and origin of ham sliders.
- 12 slider buns
- 12 slices of ham
- 6 slices of Swiss cheese halved
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon poppy seeds optional
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
Slice the slider buns in half horizontally and place the bottom halves in the prepared baking dish.
Layer each bottom bun with a slice of ham and a half slice of Swiss cheese. You can fold the ham slices to fit the buns if needed.
Place the top halves of the buns over the cheese and ham to close the sliders.
In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, honey, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, poppy seeds (if using), salt, and pepper.
Brush the butter mixture evenly over the tops of the sliders, making sure to coat each bun.
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the sliders are golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from the oven and let the sliders cool for a few minutes. Sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired.
Serve warm and enjoy your delicious ham and cheese sliders!
